Overview
Abd Allah ibn Yahya al-Kindi, an Ibadi by school and one of the leaders of the Kharijites. He named himself "the seeker of the truth", and al-Mas'udi says that he was addressed as commander of the faithful in 129 AH. Abu Hamza called to him, and the Ibadis of Mecca and Medina were attached to him. 2
He left Sana'a and met the army of Marwan near al-Ta'if and the land of Jurash, and was killed in a great battle, together with most of the Ibadis. The rest of them joined the Hadramawt, and al-Mas'udi says that most of them remained Ibadi until 332 AH. 2
