Overview

'Abdallah b. al-Munir al-Marwazi, a truthful ascetic; Ibn Makhlad transmitted from him and he was trustworthy. 1

His reports

Yahya b. Badr al-Qurashi related that on Friday before prayer he would be at Qazwin, and at Friday-prayer time be seen at the mosque of Amid; people said he walked on water — asked, he said: "as for walking on water I know nothing, but when God wills He joins the river's two banks until a man crosses." When he went to the wilds with companions he gathered something like ushnan, took it to the market, sold it and lived on it; it is told he passed a lion crouched on the road, went to it alone, prodded it, then told his companions: "pass." He died in Ramadan 262. 1
