Yazid ibn Abd al-Malik appointed him over the amirate of Medina, Mecca and Ta'if together. The book says that Yazid combined these governorships in the course of joining the provinces to one another. 1
He was the governor whom Yazid sent to Medina; he struck Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Dahhak and took money from him when Fatima bint al-Husayn complained, according to the book. 2
The book gives no date for his governorship.
