Summary
Malik said of a contract slave who frees a slave of his, or gives charity of some of his property, and his master did not know until the contract slave was freed: it stands against him and he cannot retract it. If the master knew before the contract slave was freed and rejected it without permitting it, then if the contract slave is freed while the property is in his hand, the master is not obliged to free that slave or to give that charity, unless he does it willingly of his own accord. 1
