Summary
Malik said of a man who stipulates on his contract slave that he may not travel, marry, or leave his land without his permission, and that if he does any of this without permission, his contract is annulled by his hand: the contract is not annulled by the master's hand; rather the master refers that to the ruler. The contract slave may not marry, travel or leave his master's land without permission, whether that was stipulated or not, because the contract slave may marry and pay a dower that impoverishes his property and makes him unable, or he may travel and his instalments fall due while he is away. 1
