Summary
Malik said: the agreed practice among us, on which there is no dispute, is that the contract slave is like a slave whom his master frees after ten years of service. If the master dies before the ten years are over, the rest of his service belongs to his heirs, and his clientage belongs to the one who made the manumission, and to his male children or agnatic kin. 1
