Summary
Malik said: it is not lawful to sell an instalment of a contract slave's payments, because it is uncertainty: if the contract slave becomes unable, what is owed on him is void; if he dies or becomes insolvent while owing debts, the buyer of the instalment does not take a share of it with the creditors. The buyer of an instalment stands in the place of the master of the contract slave, so the creditors of the contract slave do not share with his master in his contract; and likewise the tax levied on the slave. 1
