From radio to television
Radio Rodja began with experimental community FM broadcasts in Cileungsi in early 2005 and was officially launched in 2007 on 756 AM. 1 Rodja TV followed in 2009 as an internet-streaming channel, and from 2011 the network's television output also went out by satellite; the radio and television studios share a complex on Jalan Pahlawan, Kampung Tengah, Cileungsi, beside Masjid Al-Barkah, and the radio signal is relayed by partner stations across Indonesia. 1 A 2016 academic study of Salafi media counts Radio Rodja among the most important Salafi stations in Indonesia and records that Rodja Radio and Rodja TV operated under the management of KPMI, the Indonesian Muslim Entrepreneurs Community. 3
Content and orientation
The channel's schedule is built around Qur'an recitation, hadith lessons and recorded lectures by its regular teachers, among them Abu Yahya Badrusalam, whose lessons are recorded at Masjid Al-Barkah in the Rodja complex. Academic studies of Indonesian dawah media treat Rodja as a Salafi broadcaster; the museum records this as the network's documented orientation, stated factually, and not as a ruling on any individual associated with it. 3 1
