Renewal of the Mizab al-Rahma of the Ka'ba, 960

In 960 the Mizab al-Rahma of the Ka'ba was renewed; Abu Bakr al-Yaqim al-Makki coined its chronogram: 'The spout of God's house renewed — we took «rahma» as the date from your Lord' 1.

Overview

In 960 the Mizab al-Rahma of the Sacred House was rebuilt; Abu Bakr al-Yaqim al-Makki coined its chronogram: "O exalted Lord, to whom belongs the Mosque — behold the standing water-spout — God's house-spout is renewed, so we drew — mercy, and the date, from Thy Lord" 1.
