Umar accepts Islam

A grown-up reads you the short text; the longer one you read yourself.

Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) entered Islam in Dhu al-Hijja of the sixth year, three days after Hamza; he once went out with his sword, then heard the Qur'an at his sister's house, his heart softened and he entered Islam.

Umar ibn al-Khattab (may God be pleased with him) entered Islam in Dhu al-Hijja of the sixth year, three days after Hamza; the Prophet ﷺ had asked God to strengthen Islam with the more beloved of two men, Umar or Abu Jahl — and the more beloved was Umar. One night he found the Prophet reciting Surat al-Haqqa in prayer and marveled, though pride still won. Then he went out with his sword seeking the Prophet; Nu'aym ibn Abdullah sent him to his sister Fatima and her husband, who had entered Islam — he read the sheet Khabbab was teaching them and said 'guide me to Muhammad'. He gave allegiance at Dar al-Arqam, the house's takbir reached the mosque, and the Prophet named him 'al-Faruq'. Ibn Mas'ud said: 'we could not pray at the Ka'ba until Umar entered Islam'.
